Anwar Praises Young Muay Thai Star Johan Ghazali for Bringing Pride to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 :Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has commended young Muay Thai champion Johan Ghazali, better known as Jojo, for bringing international recognition to Malaysia through his outstanding achievements in the sport.

Anwar said Jojo’s determination, discipline, and fighting spirit reflect the true values of a resilient Malaysian youth who never gives up in pursuit of his dreams.

“Jojo’s achievements are a source of immense pride for the nation. His perseverance and dedication mirror the spirit of young Malaysians who strive tirelessly to achieve excellence,” Anwar said in a statement.

The Prime Minister also praised Jojo’s involvement in social causes, noting his active participation in anti-bullying campaigns and his efforts to inspire confidence, resilience, and positivity among young Malaysians.

“It is even more admirable that Jojo uses his platform to raise awareness against bullying and to motivate other youths to build self-belief and a strong sense of identity,” he added.

Anwar expressed confidence that with continued encouragement and national support, more young athletes will rise to bring further glory to Malaysia on the global stage.

He also quoted former U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s famous words, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country,” highlighting the importance of patriotism and collective effort in nation-building.

“Congratulations, Jojo, for your remarkable achievements and your commitment to the country and society. Continue your efforts to inspire the younger generation who love Malaysia and aspire to contribute to its progress,” Anwar said.
