LONDON, Sept 13 (VoM): Arsenal enjoyed a comfortable night at the Emirates, brushing aside Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the Premier League, with Martin Zubimendi starring by scoring twice to spoil Ange Postecoglou’s debut as Forest manager.
The Gunners controlled proceedings from the start and broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Zubimendi fired home a thunderous volley, his first goal for the club.
However, the celebrations were dampened when Captain Martin Ødegaard was forced off with a right shoulder injury, raising concerns for Mikel Arteta’s side.
In the second half, Arsenal doubled their advantage after substitute defender Nicolo Savona’s error allowed Eberechi Eze to set up Viktor Gyökeres, who calmly slotted in his third goal of the season.
The Emirates roared again in the 79th minute when Zubimendi rose highest to head in Leandro Trossard’s pinpoint cross, sealing a dominant 3-0 victory.
Home fans also took the opportunity to jeer Postecoglou, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss, whose Forest side offered little resistance in his first match in charge.
With this result, Arsenal extended their unbeaten run and maintained momentum in their chase for early-season Premier League supremacy.
