PUTRAJAYA: The Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) has carried out a series of enforcement operations in Selangor, targeting employers who hired foreign workers without valid documents.

On 18 August 2025, at 1.40pm, enforcement officers raided an amusement park near Bandar Sungai Long, Kajang, following two weeks of intelligence gathering and public complaints. A total of 123 individuals were inspected, comprising 52 foreigners and 71 locals.

From the checks, 46 foreigners, including 31 Myanmar men, nine Myanmar women, two Indonesian men, three Bangladeshi men, and one Thai woman, aged between 23 and 47, were arrested. Four summonses under Form 29 were also issued. The detainees have been sent to the Millennium Immigration Depot, Beranang, for further investigation.

In separate operations on 19 August 2025, beginning at 11.45am, JIM officers also raided an industrial factory in Balakong and a supermarket in Puchong. Out of 64 people checked, 48 illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, India, and Pakistan, aged between 18 and 49, were detained. They were taken to the Lenggeng Immigration Depot for further action.

Some of the undocumented migrants attempted to escape and hide during the raids, but enforcement officers successfully apprehended them.

According to JIM, the arrests were made under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) as well as Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.

Immigration Director-General Dato’ Zakaria Bin Shaaban stressed that the department will not compromise with foreigners who overstay, misuse passes, or live in Malaysia illegally, and warned that strict action will be taken against employers who hire or harbor undocumented migrants.
