31.84 percent turned out to vote as of 12 noon in the Sungai Bakap by-election
NIBONG TEBAL: The turnout for the Sungai Bakap State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election (PRK) recorded 31.84 percent as of 12 noon, four hours after polling stations opened, according to the Election Commission (EC).
Berita Harian reports, the survey found that the voting process at nine polling centers went smoothly in good weather as of this afternoon.
The voting process starts from 8 am to 6 pm before the vote tallying process takes place at the Jawi Multipurpose Hall, Taman Desa Jawi here.
A total of 39,279 voters are eligible to fulfill their respective responsibilities in the by-election, including 57 policemen.
The Sungai Bakap state assembly by-election witnessed a one-on-one clash between the former Director of the Aminuddin Baki North Branch Institute, Dr Joohari Ariffin, and the former logistics executive who is also Pas Nibong Tebal Vice President, Abidin Ismail representing Perikatan Nasional (PN).
