KUALA LUMPUR: The lawsuit filed by 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and 10 other companies against Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor regarding the purchase of luxury goods amounting to more than US$346 million, allegedly obtained from misappropriated 1MDB funds, will be heard at the High Court here starting 28 June 2027.

Lawyer Datuk Seri Rajan Navaratnam, representing Rosmah, said that during the case management proceedings yesterday, Judicial Commissioner Datuk Muhammad Adam @ Edward Abdullah set the dates from 28 June to 2 July, 5 July to 9 July, and 19 July to 30 July 2027.

“The court also set 28 September this year to hear the application to amend the writ of summons and the Mareva injunction application,” the lawyer said when contacted today.

A Mareva injunction is a temporary order preventing the wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak from disposing of assets totalling US$346 million, whether in the form of credit, company shares, properties, or otherwise, until a decision is reached in the case between the plaintiffs and the defendant.

The lawsuit, filed on 9 May 2024, involves 1MDB and five of its subsidiaries, namely 1MDB Energy Holdings Limited, 1MDB Energy Limited, 1MDB Energy (Langat) Limited, Global Diversified Investment Company Limited, and SRC International Sdn Bhd.

The other five companies involved are Affinity Equity International Partners Limited, Alsen Chance Holdings Limited, Blackrock Commodities (Global) Limited, Blackstone Asia Real Estate Partners Limited, and Brightstone Jewellery Limited.

All plaintiffs are seeking a court order for Rosmah to pay US$346,010,489 or any other amount deemed appropriate by the court.

They are also seeking a declaration that the first to sixth plaintiffs are the legal owners of the luxury goods alleged to be in Rosmah’s possession.

At the initial stage, the lawsuit named Rosmah and Singaporean woman Shabnam Naraindas Daswani as the first and second defendants respectively.

However, in April 2025, 1MDB and the companies involved withdrew the lawsuit against Shabnam.
