Yemeni forces will persist in their attacks on all ships associated with Israel, irrespective of any changes in ownership
The Yemeni Armed Forces have stated their intention to persist in targeting all vessels associated with Israel in adjacent waters, irrespective of any alterations in ownership or flags.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated on Sunday that numerous shipping companies associated with Israel are attempting to circumvent Yemen’s punitive measures by divesting their assets to other companies or altering their registration.
Saree cautioned that all entities engaging with these companies and vessels may face penalties and are forbidden from entering the operational zone of the Yemeni Armed Forces.
He stated that any alteration in the ownership or flags of the Israel-linked vessels will not exempt them from Yemen’s actions.
“Intelligence information confirms that numerous Israeli shipping companies are actively seeking to divest their assets and transfer their maritime shipping and transport properties to alternative entities or re-register them under different names to evade the punitive measures imposed by the Republic of Yemen on those vessels and companies,” he stated.
Saree stated that the Yemeni army will maintain its maritime blockade against vessels affiliated with Israel and will persist in targeting them until Israel’s aggression against Lebanon and Gaza, along with the siege of the Strip, ceases.
The Yemeni Armed Forces are actively maintaining the maritime blockade on Israel and are targeting all vessels connected to or en route to it. Saree stated, “This blockade will remain in effect until the aggression ceases, the blockade on Gaza is lifted, and the hostilities in Lebanon come to an end.”
Since October 2023, the Yemeni armed forces have executed numerous missile strikes targeting locations within the Israeli-occupied territories, as well as Israeli vessels navigating to and from these areas.
The military actions undertaken by Israel against the encircled Gaza Strip commenced in October of the previous year. Since that time, over 43,300 Palestinians have lost their lives, predominantly comprising women and children.
The persistent Israeli air and artillery bombardments have brought the besieged region to a critical juncture. The scarcity of food, water, and essential medical supplies is significantly impacting the population of Gaza.
