WiFT MyRAS Showcases Malaysia’s Leadership at the Daegu Global Robot Business Forum 2025

Daegu, Republic of Korea: The Malaysia Robotics and Automation Society (MyRAS), through its newly established wing Women in Future Technologies (WiFT), proudly represented Malaysia at the Daegu Global Robot Business Forum 2025 and the Global Robot Cluster (GRC) Board & General Meetings, held from 22 to 25 October 2025 at the Daegu Exhibition and Convention Centre (EXCO), Republic of Korea.

Organized annually by the Global Robot Cluster (GRC), the prestigious forum gathered leading global experts, researchers, and innovators in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI). This year’s event featured the Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX) 2025, along with high-level conferences, exhibitions, and technical sessions showcasing next-generation technologies shaping the future of global industry.

Representing Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw, FCILT, Interim Chairperson of Women in Future Technologies (WiFT) and lecturer at the National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM), introduced WiFT as a transformative initiative under MyRAS. The program focuses on advancing women’s leadership, innovation, and participation in future technologies, with the aim of fostering gender inclusivity and global collaboration in the robotics and automation sector.

During her presentation, Dr. Ong highlighted WiFT’s mission to empower women in science and technology fields, ensuring their active contribution to Malaysia’s growing tech ecosystem and the broader international community. She also expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Ishkandar Baharin, President of MyRAS, for his continuous support and encouragement, and extended gratitude to Mr. Kim Chang-ho, Chairman of GRC, and the organizing committee for their warm hospitality and partnership throughout the event.

The participation of WiFT MyRAS at the Daegu Global Robot Business Forum 2025 marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s presence on the global technology stage. It underscores the nation’s commitment to driving innovation, promoting diversity, and advancing sustainable technological progress through international cooperation.
