KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23: United States (US) Ambassador to Malaysia Edgard D. Kagan today underscored the importance of strengthening digital cooperation between the US and Malaysia while speaking as a panelist at the US-Malaysia Digital Dialogue held here.
Ambassador Kagan highlighted the expanding opportunities for collaboration in key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and the digital economy. He emphasized that both nations share a mutual commitment to fostering innovation, transparency, and inclusive digital growth.
“Digital transformation is not just about technology it’s about people, trust, and opportunity,” Kagan said. “Through closer collaboration, the US and Malaysia can build a secure, dynamic, and inclusive digital ecosystem that benefits both countries.”
The dialogue brought together senior policymakers, industry leaders, and technology experts from both countries to discuss strategies for advancing digital infrastructure, enhancing data governance, and promoting cross-border innovation.
The US-Malaysia Digital Dialogue forms part of continued efforts to strengthen bilateral relations through technology and economic partnerships, aligning with the Biden administration’s Indo-Pacific strategy, which prioritizes digital connectivity and innovation cooperation across the region.
