Turkish, US Officials Discuss Syria Developments and Gaza ‘Board of Peace

ANKARA/ISTANBUL, Jan 20: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone call on Monday to discuss recent developments in Syria and the US-proposed Board of Peace for Gaza, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.

Details of the conversation were not immediately disclosed, but the call comes amid ongoing international efforts to implement US-led initiatives aimed at stabilizing Gaza and coordinating post-conflict reconstruction.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is among the world leaders invited by US President Donald Trump, in his role as founding chair, to join the Board of Peace. The board is intended to provide strategic oversight, mobilize international resources, and ensure accountability as Gaza transitions from conflict to peace and development.
