Tun Siti Hasmah to Be Laid to Rest Beside Tun Endon

SERI KEMBANGAN: The late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali will be laid to rest at Pusara Negara, Precinct 20, Putrajaya, beside the grave of the late Tun Endon Mahmood.

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the decision was made by the late Dr Siti Hasmah’s family and had been conveyed to him.

He said all radio and television stations had also been instructed to adjust their content and programmes as a mark of respect for her contributions and service.

“I have also instructed all radio and television stations to adjust their content and programmes throughout today to reflect the respect we are paying to the late Dr Siti Hasmah,” he told reporters at her residence in Mines Resort City here today.

At the same time, Fahmi described her passing as part of divine will and said her contributions as a mother and doctor would always be remembered.

“She truly meant a great deal to many people, and her passing is deeply felt,” he said.

Earlier, Dr Siti Hasmah passed away at the age of 100 at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 9.20am today.

Her passing was confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir.
