Three of the four Vietnamese women killed in the car-truck collision on NSE

BATU PAHAT: At KM123.8 of the North-South Expressway (NSE), the Pagoh-Yong Peng segment, a vehicle collided with a trailer lorry, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including three Vietnamese women.

The lorry broke down in the middle of the road at 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, according to Batu Pahat acting OCPD Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani.

A man in his 47th year was operating the lorry. As he attempted to manoeuvre his vehicle out of the road, a car from behind struck the back of the lorry.Three Vietnamese women, ages 19 to 32, were riding in the car with the 26-year-old local driver.

“The driver and two passengers suffered severe head injuries in the collision. He made the declaration on Wednesday, June 12, saying, “They were pronounced dead at the scene.”

Supt Shahrulanuar stated that the lorry driver was unharmed, but one of the women passed away while receiving treatment at Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail.

He also mentioned that the Road Transport Act of 1987’s Section 41(1) is being used to investigate the situation.
