The remand period of Zayn Rayyan’s parents was extended for 6 days

PETALING JAYA: The remand period for the parents of the autistic child, Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, has been extended for another six days.

Berita Harian reported that the lawyer representing them, Fahmi Abd Moin, confirmed that the new remand order until next Wednesday was issued by Magistrate Ainaa Muhamad Kamal at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court today.

Earlier, the two individuals were seen entering the Magistrate’s Court at 9.30am for the continuation or termination of remand proceedings.

Yesterday, Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that he would apply for the extension of the remand of the two individuals involved to help investigate the murder of the victim according to Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The six-year-old child was reported missing on Dec 5 in Damansara Damai, before being found dead near a creek, about 200 meters from his block of flats in Apartment Idaman, the next day.

The victim’s body was found by a group of residents who carried out a search operation.

The results of the autopsy found injuries to the neck and body as a result of self-defense.
