The PM’s political secretary attacks individuals claiming to be his special officer

KUALA LUMPUR: Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Azman Abidin criticized the actions of an individual who claimed to be his special officer and used the false position for his personal gain.

He said the matter was malicious defamation and strongly condemned the misuse of his name for irresponsible and fraudulent purposes.

“This act not only tarnishes my good name, but can also affect public trust in the institution I represent.

“I deny having any working relationship with him and have never appointed this individual to represent me in doing any official or unofficial business,” he said in a statement.

Azman also advised victims who have suffered losses due to fraud committed by that individual to immediately file a complaint with the police.

He said that the action is a step that needs to be taken so that the individual who is the mastermind behind the fraud can be brought to court and charged with impersonating and taking money illegally.

“In addition, I would also like to advise Datuk Zaharin Mohd Yasin to adopt a ‘tabayyun’ attitude by doing a basic check of the truth of an issue before sharing on social media and writing that can create negative perceptions and slanderous influence on others.

“I am considering taking legal action against the individuals involved in the misuse of my name.

“This is a firm step that needs to be taken to protect my reputation and ensure that this kind of thing does not happen again,” he said.
