STPM 2023 achieves highest national CGPA on record
KUALA LUMPUR: The results of the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) 2023 show an increase in the national Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to 2.84, compared to 2.82 the previous year.
According to Berita Harian, the Chairman of the Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM), Prof Datuk Dr. Mohd Ekhwan Toriman, stated that the overall national CGPA for STPM 2023 increased by 0.02 points, marking the highest since the examination was first conducted.
“A total of 1,116 candidates, or 2.70 percent, achieved a CGPA of 4.00. The number of candidates with a CGPA of 4.00 decreased by 68 candidates, from 1,184 in 2022 to 1,116 last year, with 803 candidates or 71.95 percent from the B40 category.
“In terms of CGPA achievement, the percentage of STPM 2023 candidates with a CGPA of 3.75 and above is 10.10 percent, with a CGPA of 3.00 and above at 44.82 percent.
“CGPA of 2.75 and above stands at 58.79 percent, and CGPA of 2.00 and above is at 90.08 percent, also showing an increase compared to 2022,” he said at the 2023 STPM Results Announcement Ceremony at MPM here today.
