SHAH ALAM: Selangor Sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, graciously rode the Light Rapid Transit 3 (LRT3) Shah Alam Line to inspect the latest public transport system today.

His Majesty boarded the train from Bandar Utama Station to Johan Setia Station, accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and Selangor Raja Muda, Tengku Amir Shah.

Earlier, His Majesty’s arrival at Bandar Utama Station was received by the top management of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), led by its President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Amir Hamdan.

The journey began at 10.40 am and arrived at the final station at 11.40 am, covering a period of one hour across four districts, namely Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.

Sultan Sharafuddin, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Tengku Amir Shah, who were in the front carriage, graciously inspected the journey passing through 20 stations.

His Majesty also commended the patience of the people of Selangor in waiting for the LRT3 Shah Alam Line project to be completed and operational.

“It would be wonderful if this LRT3 line had been completed according to the original plan, as I view this train service as an important public transport facility for the convenience of the people.

“I am also excited to await the completion of the five delayed stations that will be rebuilt, namely LRT3 Tropicana, Temasya, Raja Muda, Bukit Raja and Bandar Botanik stations, which will benefit the majority of Malay residents in the surrounding areas,” His Majesty said.

Sultan Sharafuddin also expressed his highest appreciation to all Prasarana and Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) personnel, as well as all parties directly or indirectly involved in ensuring the successful construction and operation of the LRT3.

His Majesty was informed that throughout the implementation of the LRT3 project, more than 13,000 individuals contributed their energy, expertise and commitment in realising the construction of the Shah Alam Line.

His Majesty graciously extended his congratulations and appreciation for the role of every individual involved.

“Although the stations, tracks and trains are the visible results to the public, the true success of this project is a manifestation of the dedication, professionalism and spirit of more than 13,000 individuals who devoted their energy and expertise throughout its construction.

“I hope that Prasarana’s workforce will always ensure the smooth operation of the LRT3 Shah Alam Line and minimise any disruptions,” His Majesty said.

His Majesty also advised the public to make full use of the service, which serves as a catalyst for a wider culture of public transport usage in order to create a modern, sustainable and quality mobility system for the future.

On June 28, Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, officiated the 37.8-kilometre LRT3 Shah Alam Line and announced that the service would be free for one month for the public.
