Salesman Dies After Car Plunges Down Hillside on NSE

SEREMBAN: A 22-year-old salesman was killed after his car plunged down a steep hillside along the North-South Expressway (NSE) on Friday morning.

Seremban police chief ACP Azahar Abdul Rahim said the accident occurred at around 10.30am at KM267.1, as the victim was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid and hit the left-side guardrail before plunging approximately 60 meters down the hillside.

Emergency responders confirmed that the victim died at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the crash.

Police have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the mishap.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution, especially when travelling along downhill or winding sections of the expressway.
