The upcoming Dewan Rakyat sitting, scheduled from this Monday until August 28, is expected to run late into the night, with the key highlight being the presentation of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13).

Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, Tan Sri Johari Abdul, said the Parliament has also received numerous motions from Members of Parliament, indicating a busy and packed session.

“That is why I urge the public to communicate directly with their MPs when RMK13 is presented — let them know what issues you want raised. Don’t wait until your MP returns to the constituency to voice your concerns. While they’re debating in Parliament, tag them directly online so your voices are heard,” he said.

He added, “We are giving ample time for discussions this time, and the session may run as late as 10 or 11 PM, starting daily from 10 AM.”

Johari emphasized that the RMK13 presentation is particularly significant as Malaysia holds the ASEAN Chairmanship this year. It will serve as a platform to demonstrate the country’s capability and resilience amidst global uncertainties.

Separately, he also encouraged the public to fully utilize the facilities available at the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) to improve their income and livelihoods.

“NADI isn’t just a digital access hub or a venue for community programs — it has the potential to become a one-stop centre for business opportunities and valuable information,” he explained.

He urged especially the youth to take advantage of what NADI offers, using it as a place to learn and connect with the wider community.

NADI Taman Pekan Baru, which began operating on February 9, is one of four new centres established in Kedah under the ‘1 DUN 1 NADI’ initiative, bringing the total number in the state to 81.
