Refer to Media Prima: Fahmi comments on Radio DJ mocking Anwar’s speech
KUALA LUMPUR: Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has left it to Media Prima to decide on the appropriate action regarding Hot FM radio presenters mocking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s speech style.
According to the Wilayahku portal, he declined to comment further on the matter when asked at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting at the Ministry of Communications today.
“This (issue) can be referred to Media Prima; it is not my agency,” he briefly said in response to reporters’ questions.
Previously, Hot FM radio presenters Khairy Jamaluddin, Fara Fauzana, and Johan Raja Lawak faced criticism and backlash after allegedly mocking Anwar’s speech style.
Social media users considered the radio presenters’ actions inappropriate for individuals who are seen as role models in society.
For the record, during Monday’s Bekpes Hot segment, Khairy imitated Anwar’s expression by saying, “Today I win… tomorrow, we’ll eat together.”
