Pre Tahfiz Kindergarten KEMAS proof that Islam is not threatened under the Unity Government, said Zahid

NIBONG TEBAL: The KEMAS Pre-Tahfiz Nursery Program is a reflection that proves that Islam is not threatened under the Unity Government, in fact it is stronger, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Bernama reports, denying the claims of a few parties that Islam and the Malays are threatened under the administration of the Unity Government, the Minister of Rural and Regional Development said the program is the trigger of change in Islamic education.

He said that DAP as a component party in the political coalition had never opposed the program when it was presented in the Cabinet of Ministers meeting.

“They are very concerned about Article 3 in the Constitution which is the position of Islam as the Federal religion and Article 153 which is the position of the special rights of the Malays and the position of the Malay Kings,” he told reporters after officiating the pre-launch of the Pre Tahfiz Tabika KEMAS Pulau Pinang at the Perda-Tech Dewan , Panchor Hill, here, last night.

Commenting further, Ahmad Zahid said, the program will emphasize other acts of worship including prayer for the children of Tabika KEMAS.

“In addition to that, we do not leave aside the issue of other religions and also other races entering kindergartens or kindergartens. In Kindergarten Perpaduan, for example, civic education is implemented.

“The same goes for any non-Muslim child who enters KEMAS Kindergarten, the same education is done when the Quran is taught and prayers are performed,” he said.

Tabika Pre Tahfiz KEMAS is a program to empower Al-Quran Education in addition to adding value to existing modules (Islam Appreciation Program).

It includes aspects of Al-Quran Education in producing Small Huffaz who master the memorization of the Al-Quran for the surahs in juzuk amma and optional surahs (Juzuk 30) with Reading (Qiraat) Adab and Tadabbur.

The program is also one of the Strategic Directions (HATS) of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development Year 2023 in Developing Rural Human Capital Comprehensively to empower Quranic Education for children.
