PKR Organises 2026 National Congress in Melaka on 15-16 August

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will hold the KEADILAN 2026 National Congress at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC), Ayer Keroh, Melaka on 15 and 16 August, which is expected to gather approximately 2,500 delegates and 3,000 observers.

KEADILAN 2026 National Congress Director Saifuddin Shafi Muhammad said the opening of the congress and the policy speech will be officiated by PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, while the sessions for Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) and Wanita KEADILAN will take place one day earlier.

“The congress also anticipates the attendance of several foreign ambassadors including from the United States, China, Japan and Australia, who have confirmed their attendance, in addition to leaders of political parties,” he said in a statement today.

Saifuddin said the theme “Memugar Reformasi, Membina MADANI” (Revitalising Reform, Building MADANI) was chosen for this congress, which carries the aspiration to strengthen the spirit of reform as the foundation of the party’s struggle, while ensuring it remains relevant in facing current challenges.

He said throughout the congress, debates will focus on issues related to the economy, education and politics, with 16 debaters representing the party’s wings and states scheduled to debate the president’s policy speech.

“This congress will serve as a platform to strengthen the commitment of party members in defending integrity, upholding social justice, reaching out to the less fortunate and the weak, and strengthening unity among the multi‑racial community,” he said.

Saifuddin said as in previous editions, this congress will also present the Bill Kayong Award to five families, as an appreciation for the services of their family members who served the party until the end of their lives.

“To provide continuous services to delegates and observers, the congress is also conducted in collaboration with several ministries and agencies including the National Registration Department (JPN), the Immigration Department of Malaysia, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Registry of Societies (ROS).

“At the same time, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Melaka will organise a Mega Rahmah Carnival for the public,” he said, expressing hope that the congress would succeed in creating momentum for unity and finding common ground among party leaders and members.
