KUALA LUMPUR: Ombak Kitchen has expanded its operations with the opening of a new branch in Setapak.

This new branch is the fourth, following the openings of its previous locations in Bukit Jelutong, Bangsar, and IOI City Mall.

Sharita Loo, CEO of the Ombak Kitchen Group, said the restaurant’s goal is to offer a seafood dining experience that is more enjoyable than the typical traditional dining experience.

She added that the new branch in Setapak aims to bring seafood dishes closer to the people of Kuala Lumpur, being just 10 minutes from the city center.

“With its large population, we see significant potential here,” she said during a press conference after the restaurant’s opening ceremony.

She further mentioned that to cater to children’s food needs, the restaurant offers a variety of healthy options.

“Parents are now more concerned about nutritional value, and our chefs have worked hard to meet those needs,” she said.

Sharita also noted that in addition to the specialty dishes served with Cajun sauce, Ombak Kitchen’s bestsellers include Alaska King Crab, live Canadian lobster, and seafood combos that are sure to impress visitors.

She explained that the Ombak Kitchen Seafood restaurant offers a wide range of à la carte menu options in addition to seafood combos.

“The new menu is more trendy and appealing not only to families but also to younger generations,” she said.

Sharita expressed the desire for all Malaysians to experience the restaurant’s offerings.

“In the next two weeks, we will launch a new menu priced at only RM40 per person,” she said.

Additionally, Sharita mentioned that the restaurant has become a popular venue for birthday celebrations and special events.

She revealed that Ombak Kitchen is also planning to expand into Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru in response to demand from seafood enthusiasts.

The opening of the new premises was officiated by Setiawangsa Member of Parliament Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who is also the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, as the special guest.

In addition to praising the delicious dishes, Nik Nazmi expressed his pleasure that Ombak Kitchen chose Setapak, located in his parliamentary area, as the site for its fourth branch.
