Mohd Zafir Continues Duties as Usual

SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan State Secretary Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim continues to carry out his duties as usual following instructions from Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

Mohd Zafir said he would comply with the instruction as he is a federal civil servant posted to the state.

“Tan Sri KSN asked me to continue carrying out my duties as usual. As a federal civil servant posted to Negeri Sembilan, I will comply with the instruction.

“However, I have official duties outside the office today,” he told Utusan Malaysia when contacted today.

Mohd Zafir said he had also sought the opinion of Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar regarding the decision by the Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council (MMKN) to suspend him from duty.

He said the legal opinion he received was that the suspension order was invalid.

“So, I am following the guidelines provided as well as the advice of Tan Sri KSN. So far, I have also not received any official letter regarding my suspension, apart from the statement issued by the Menteri Besar,” he said.

Yesterday, Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said the Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council, at a special meeting, had unanimously decided to suspend Mohd Zafir and State Legal Adviser Datuk Muzalmah Mustapha Kamal with immediate effect.
