Malaysia condemns the attack on Donald Trump, says Anwar
SERDANG: Malaysia condemned the attack on the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, who is currently campaigning for the Presidential Election in the country.
Berita Harian reported that when commenting on the incident, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, hoped that the incident would not make the situation worse.
“We just got preliminary information. Whatever our stance is on any figure, this is not a solution.
“Thus we sympathize with Donald Trump and hope that the situation is under control,” he said.
He told reporters after officiating the FELDA 2024 Settlers’ Day celebrations at the national level at the Malaysian Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS) Serdang here, today.
In an incident this morning, international media reported that Trump was injured in a shooting while campaigning in Pennsylvania, United States.
There is video showing Trump raising his hand and covering his right ear, before members of the US Secret Service surround him for protection.
Commenting on the Israeli air attack on the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone near Gaza this morning, Anwar strongly condemned the actions of the Zionist regime against the residents of the area involved.
“Malaysia strongly condemns the Israeli terrorist attacks on women, civilians and children in Gaza.
“This action continues because of the failure of big countries to defend humanity and rights.
“Therefore, the Malaysian government once again affirms our position to continue to condemn the ongoing, inhumane tyranny of the Israeli Zionist regime,” he said.
