KUSKOP proposes to organize a carnival for women entrepreneurs in conjunction with ASEAN-Malaysia 2025
PUTRAJAYA – The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) has proposed that a women’s entrepreneur carnival be held during the 2025 ASEAN-Malaysia chairmanship.
Deputy Minister Datuk Seri R Ramanan said the matter would be brought to the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Cooperatives Development Datuk Ewon Benedick and the top management of KUSKOP before being proposed to other ministries for the purpose of strategic cooperation.
“Still under discussion, the theme of ASEAN 2025 is Inclusivity and Sustainability” so we want to take inspiration from the theme to involve our female entrepreneurs through the organization of the carnival.
“It is a valuable opportunity considering that Malaysia will see the influx of foreign delegations and through the organization of the carnival, they can get our products,” he said.
He said this after officiating the Carnival of Malaysian Women Entrepreneurs 2024 (KUWM).
Laos officially handed over the Asean Chairmanship to Malaysia at the Closing Ceremony of the 44th and 45th Asean Summit held together with related Summits and the Asean Chairmanship Handover Ceremony in Vientiane.
Malaysia’s duties as Asean Chairman officially begin on 1 Jan 2025.
Meanwhile, Ramanan said the Carnival of Women Entrepreneurs starting today until 10 November at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre, Putrajaya is also expected to generate a sales value of RM2 million through the involvement of 100 reruai.
He said among the involvement of reruai such as beauty products, food and fashion.
Ramanan also congratulated the organizers, Syarikat Nu Ideaktiv (New Idea Aktif) Sdn Bhd and KUSKOP for the initiative of organizing this carnival involving two iconic brands, Mingguan Wanita and Nona under the auspices of Ideaktiv (Idea Aktif).
“I understand that many great female entrepreneurs have participated in the carnival this time such as Bizmilla under the famous singer Milla Jirin, Air Tangan Fauziah Ahmad Daud, YUVA which is an Indian clothing and fashion company, Tiffin Jeiwa and the country’s leading women’s fashion bag designer, Christy Ng.
“It is my hope that the Malaysian Women Entrepreneurs Carnival 2024 will be a meaningful starting point for women who want to make strides in the entrepreneurial business world,” he said.
