KHIND celebrates 65th anniversary with opening of first Rent-to-Own experience store in Semenyih

SEMENYIH: KHIND is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its establishment with the opening of its first physical Rent-to-Own (RTO) Experience Store in Setia EcoHill, further strengthening the company’s efforts to provide more affordable home appliance ownership solutions for Malaysians.
The launch ceremony was officiated by KHIND Group Executive Chairman, Cheng Ping Keat, who also commemorated the company’s journey from a small electrical appliance repair shop in Sekinchan, Selangor in 1961 to a local brand now present in more than 58 countries.

According to him, the opening of the experience store reflects the company’s continued commitment to making household living easier through flexible and affordable ownership plans.
“KHIND has always been guided by one belief — making life easier for every household. The KHIND RTO Experience Store brings this promise to life through a physical space where customers can personally experience how easy it is to own home appliances through flexible and affordable plans,” he said.
He added that Semenyih was chosen as the first location because the area is seen as a rapidly growing new community, especially among young families and first-time homeowners.
“Our role is to help reduce the burden of high upfront costs and make home appliances more accessible through more flexible monthly payment plans,” he said.
The KHIND RTO programme was introduced in 2022 through digital platforms and promotional roadshows nationwide. To date, the initiative has reportedly helped nearly 30,000 households in Malaysia gain access to home appliances through the rent-to-own concept.
Built around the slogan “Easy Lah, Everything Settled”, the experience store is designed to resemble a real home environment, allowing customers to see, touch and test the displayed products before making a decision.
Customers can also complete the entire process in a single visit, from consultation to registration, while delivery and installation will be handled directly at their homes.
Each KHIND RTO subscription also comes with a comprehensive protection package, including free nationwide delivery and installation except for selected islands, insurance protection throughout the subscription period, as well as the KHIND Care Plan covering servicing, maintenance and repairs at no additional cost.
The insurance coverage includes various unforeseen incidents such as fire, lightning strikes, floods, theft and accidental damage, subject to terms and conditions.
Among the products offered under the RTO plan are 2-in-1 washer-dryer machines, front-load washing machines, refrigerators and air-conditioning units in collaboration with Acson.
Subscription plans are available from as low as RM70 per month, making home appliances more accessible especially for young families and first-time homeowners.
The launch event was further enlivened with various community activities including opening promotions, lucky draws and Spin & Win activities offering prizes worth up to RM10,000.
The KHIND RTO Experience Store is located at Setia EcoHill and operates daily from 10am to 10pm.
