Putrajaya:  25 March 2024 – The Investigation and Enforcement Division, National Registration Department (NRD) Putrajaya, for the intelligence and monitoring carried out for 2 weeks and acting to ensure that every offender who has committed an offence receives appropriate punishment by the provisions of the National Registration Department law.

The Security Guard Operation conducted by the Investigation and Enforcement Division of NRD Putrajaya has successfully arrested four (4) male security guard employees who were found to be using fake identity cards and identity cards belonging to others. They have used the identity card for between 1 and 10 years as their identity. Their purpose is to get a job. This operation was carried out around Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

The four individuals are from the Philippines and range in age from 31 to 65. They obtain the identity card by buying it from an agent for a fee of RM250 to RM300. All those detained are in the process of further investigation by the NRD.

The four individuals can be convicted of an offence under Rule 25(1)(e) of the National Registration Regulations 1990 which provides for a prison sentence not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding RM20,000 or both if convicted.
