Several members of the Malaysian Battalion 850-12 (Malbatt 850-12) suffered injuries following an Israeli attack in Lebanon.

According to Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, those who left Malaysia on November 6 were the ones who suffered. However, he did not provide any further details.

According to Reuters, an Israeli attack on the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon killed three Lebanese and hurt three Lebanese soldiers and four Malaysian Unifil Forces members, the Lebanese army said on Thursday (Nov. 7).

The army said in a statement that the hit occurred while the car was passing through a checkpoint, killing the three Lebanese people inside.

According to an army statement, the injured soldiers were working at the checkpoint, while the injured UNIFIL members were in a UN peacekeeping force car that was passing through the checkpoint at the time.

We are sending the 854 officers and other staff members from Malbatt-12 to Lebanon to replace Malbatt 850-11, which is already there.
