Gang-Linked Raid Shocks Cheras: 12 Arrested After Violent KTV Attack

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested twelve men following a brazen attack on an entertainment outlet in Taman Shamelin, Cheras, in an incident believed to be linked to underworld gang activity.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm. Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the arrests, adding that several vehicles suspected to be used in the crime have also been seized.

“We are investigating the case under Sections 427 and 147 of the Penal Code,” he said when contacted on Tuesday (April 7), referring to offenses involving mischief and rioting.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, came to public attention after an 11-minute-11-second video went viral on social media. The footage shows a large group of masked individuals, mostly dressed in black, storming a KTV outlet in a coordinated manner.

In the video, a lorry is seen ramming through the premises’ main gate, causing significant damage before dozens of men rush inside. Several suspects were reportedly armed with objects resembling iron rods and wooden sticks as they advanced into the compound.

Authorities said multiple items within the outlet were damaged during the হামলা, though no official reports of injuries have been released so far.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and police are continuing their investigation to determine the reasons behind it, including any possible gang rivalries or disputes.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over organized crime activities in the area as authorities work to track down any remaining suspects and prevent further violence.
