Four people were hurt when a shooter opened fire on an Israeli bus in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday. One of the victims was a 12-year-old child.
At about 11:30 p.m. (2130 GMT), the attack took place at the so-called tunnels crossing south of Jerusalem, close to Bethlehem.

Magazine David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service, said that its doctors helped four people, including “a 12-year-old child in serious condition with gunshot wounds.”
Hadassah hospital, which is west of Jerusalem, said the boy was “in a critical condition.”
The military said, “Israeli security forces are chasing the terrorist, blocking roads, and surrounding the Bethlehem area.”

Since 1967, Israel has been in charge of the West Bank.
Since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 of last year, there has been a lot more violence in the West Bank.

The health ministry in Ramallah says that since the start of the Gaza war, Israeli army or settlers have killed at least 790 Palestinians in the West Bank.
Israeli officials say that attacks by Palestinians on Israelis have killed at least 24 people in the West Bank in the same time period.
