Foreign Minister signs condolence note for the passing of Indonesia’s Vice President, Hamzah Haz
KUALA LUMPUR: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan visited the Indonesian Embassy here to sign a condolence note for the passing of Indonesia’s ninth Vice President, Dr. Hamzah Haz.
According to Bernama, in a Facebook post yesterday, Mohamad described the late Hamzah as an outstanding figure and a friend of Malaysia who left behind a legacy of leadership and a strong commitment to strengthening Malaysia-Indonesia relations.
“May Allah SWT bless his soul and place him among the faithful and righteous. Al-Fatihah…,” he said.
Hamzah served as Vice President of Indonesia from 2001 to 2004 under Indonesia’s fifth President, Megawati Soekarnoputri.
He passed away at the age of 84 in a hospital in Jakarta on July 24.
