Fahmi expresses appreciation to all involved in the 67th National Day celebration

KUALA LUMPUR: Communication Minister Fahmi Fadzil expressed his appreciation and thanks to everyone directly and indirectly involved in the 67th National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya yesterday.

According to the Wilayahku portal, the Chairman of the National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2024 Main Committee stated that yesterday’s National Day celebration reflected the spirit of independence among Malaysians.

He also extended his gratitude to the more than 100,000 people who attended the National Day celebration.

“Thank you also to everyone who watched the event live from home,” he said on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Fahmi reported that the parade and march involved 17,262 participants, 57 contingents, 22 brass bands, 343 land assets, 37 air assets, and 112 service animals.

He noted that, symbolically for the 67th celebration, 67 vehicles participated in the Merdeka Journey Contingent.

“Most notably, the efficiency and excellence of the Human Graphic Terrace, composed of 2,000 secondary school students from 50 schools in Selangor, were truly impressive.

“Also attracting attention were the Formation Brass Band consisting of 300 students from schools around Kuala Lumpur, the Unarmed Combat performance by the Malaysian Armed Forces, and the Malaysia MADANI Jiwa Merdeka Anti-Corruption performance by a collaboration of cultural artists from the Department of Culture and Arts, agencies, and non-governmental organizations in the arts and culture sector,” he said.

Fahmi also expressed his gratitude to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah for graciously attending and celebrating the nation’s independence day with the people.

“May the unity among Malaysians remain strong and continue to be strengthened for the well-being of our beloved homeland,” he added.
