Death of Tun Daim: Tun M lost a struggle companion
It was like losing a friend who fought with you for your land, country, and religion, according to Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
If you heard that Dr. Mahathir’s friend died this morning, you know how sad he was.
He should have received praise for his contributions to the cause. Despite his contributions to the cause, he received unwarranted scolding in his final moments. Their intention is to exact revenge on us.
“Is this some kind of payback for that?”
“Oh, please Allah. Based on what’s right, judge Daim. In the future, put him in a special place for being a patriot. That’s all I can do. After a while, we’ll be back together. In a post on the X site today, he said, “Amen, Ya Rabbal Alamin.”
While Dr. Mahathir was Deputy Prime Minister, the person who died was close with him and worked for him as a business adviser.
Dr. Mahathir continued to trust Daim as the fourth Prime Minister, promoting him to Senator and then Minister of Finance to replace Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
In 1984–1991 and again from 1999–2001, Daim was Minister of Finance. His “flash” gradually faded and he no longer made a significant impact. People say he retired from politics.
