KUALA LUMPUR – Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) will reinstate the weekly closure of part of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (Jalan TAR) from the Jalan Bunus 6 junction to the Jalan Melayu junction, starting this Sunday.
In a statement, DBKL said the move is aimed at facilitating the Santai Seni@TAR programme, while also aligning with efforts to promote low-carbon city initiatives in Kuala Lumpur.
The road closure will take place from 6 AM to 12 midnight, during which all vehicle access will be restricted.
Additionally, DBKL will activate a two-way traffic flow along Lorong TAR from the Dang Wangi junction to Lorong TAR 7 every Sunday from 9 AM to 12 midnight, after the Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning event concludes.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully, slow down, and comply with instructions from on-ground personnel during the closure.
“We regret any inconvenience caused,” DBKL added.
DBKL previously implemented a similar measure in 2022, as part of its initiative to create car-free zones and pedestrian-friendly areas in the city centre.
