Cops are investigating a video of a secondary schoolgirl being bullied in the toilet
IPOH: Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri stated that the police are looking into a recently circulated video that purportedly showed a secondary student in Kerian being harassed in a lavatory.
He continued by saying that a 13-year-old schoolgirl had reported the crime to the police today.
“Police investigations revealed that the victim, a Form One student, was harassed by two schoolgirls, both of whom were fifteen years old, at approximately 10.30 a.m. on July 14.
He added in a statement today that “both suspects brought the victim to the toilet and slapped her repeatedly while recording the video,” and that the bullying event was thought to have been caused by envy towards the victim since she was rumoured to be close to one of the suspects’ boyfriends.
Section 323 of the Penal Code applies to this case, and investigations are still on. The suspect’s 15-year-old boyfriend attends the same school.
He said, “The public is asked to refrain from making assumptions about the video and to report any relevant information to the Kerian district police headquarters at 05-7212222 or the closest police station.” – Bernama
