College Student Slashed by Ex-Boyfriend at Private University in Subang Jaya

SUBANG JAYA, July 14— A 20-year-old female college student was seriously injured after being attacked with a knife, allegedly by her former boyfriend, at a private university in Subang Jaya on Monday.

According to Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, authorities received a report regarding the incident on the same day.

“The suspect, a 21-year-old foreign national, was arrested immediately by police following the attack,” he confirmed in a statement.

The victim was slashed on the neck and was rushed to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, where she is currently reported to be in stable condition.

ACP Wan Azlan said that the motive behind the attack is still under investigation, and police are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the violent incident.

The case has shocked the campus community, prompting calls for enhanced security measures and better protection for students within university grounds.

Authorities are expected to charge the suspect pending further investigation, and the case is being probed under relevant sections of the Penal Code for assault and attempted murder.
