NEW DELHI: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who resigned, arrived at an Indian airbase yesterday afternoon.
According to Indian media, Hasina left her country following massive protests against her government.
She departed on a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft and landed at the Hindon Airbase of the Indian Air Force in Ghaziabad, near New Delhi, as reported by India Today.
Earlier, Bangladesh’s army chief, General Waker-uz-Zaman, announced an interim government after Hasina fled the country amid violent nationwide protests.
Authorities in Dhaka also closed Shahjalal International Airport, according to the national daily Prothom Alo.
