Iran and Azerbaijan will perform Caspian Sea search and rescue drills to improve cooperation and marine security.

On Monday, the Iranian Navy’s northern fleet will hold the main phase of “AZIREX 2024″ drills.
The exercises will include Iranian navy floating and flying assets, including the command ship Deylaman destroyer. IRGC Navy and Law Enforcement Command floaters will also participate in the drills.

The missile-equipped Paykan (Arrow), Separ (Shield), and Joshan (Armor) vessels, AB 212 helicopter, IRGC Navy floating unit “Shahid Basir,” and Azerbaijan’s rescue boats G129 and A640 will also participate in the drills.

Azerbaijan’s G129 and A640 docked at the Iranian army’s fourth naval zone upon entering Iranian waters.
The “Cooperation for Peace and Friendship” drills aim to strengthen regional collective security.

They also aim to increase cooperation among participating countries and demonstrate their willingness and ability to promote peace, friendship, and marine security.
