In order to take responsibility for the occupied city of Jerusalem, which is currently under a “systematic Israeli judaization campaign,” the Palestinian resistance group Hamas requested on Saturday that the combined Arab-Islamic follow-up summit take place the following week.

Haroun Nasser al-Din, a member of the Hamas political bureau, issued a statement in which he said, “It is time for the Islamic nations to fulfill their religious and political duties toward the holy city, which is facing an extensive judaization campaign by the Israeli occupying government.”

Saudi Arabia called for a combined Arab-Islamic follow-up summit on October 30. Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, will host the summit on November 11th. The purpose of the summit is to discuss the continued Israeli aggression against Palestinian territory and Lebanon, as well as the current events in the area.

The official emphasized that Islamic countries “possess the necessary resources to exert pressure on global powers to curb Israel’s occupation and halt its crimes against the Palestinian people and Islamic sanctities.”

In addition to this, he emphasized the significance of “implementing the resolutions from previous Islamic summits,” which rejected any changes to the status of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli occupation is continuing to exert full control over the holy city, he added, highlighting the increasing attacks by illegal settlements on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and demolitions throughout Jerusalem, particularly in the Silwan district. He also mentioned that the demolitions have been occurring in Jerusalem.

Starting on October 7, 2023, Israel has been carrying out a devastating onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in the deaths of over 43,500 Palestinians and has rendered the enclave nearly uninhabitable.

Due to the acts that Israel took in the blockaded enclave, the International Court of Justice is considering filing a genocide case against Israel.
