Anwar receives courtesy visit from Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received a courtesy visit from Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Fawzan Muhammed Al-Rabiah and his delegation at Perdana Putra, Putrajaya, yesterday.
According to Bernama, Anwar stated in a Facebook post that their discussion focused on the development and improvement of the services provided to Malaysians performing Hajj and Umrah, particularly through collaboration with the Saudi government.
He noted that the discussion also covered efforts to strengthen business relations between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, especially in the aviation and higher education sectors.
“I also welcomed Saudi Arabia’s upcoming Expo Hajj 2025. Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has been invited and honored to share its experience in managing and conducting Hajj operations for Malaysia at this event.
“I hope this meeting will yield positive outcomes, particularly for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and the Malaysian people in general, and further strengthen the friendship and brotherhood between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Also present at the courtesy visit were the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar; Transport Minister Anthony Loke; and TH Chairman Tan Sri Rashid Hussain.
Dr. Tawfiq’s visit to Malaysia, which started yesterday and will continue until tomorrow, aims to further enhance bilateral relations between the Saudi and Malaysian governments.
