Anwar Launches Sahabat Penggerak MADANI and SIKR 3.0 to Strengthen Social Protection and Grassroots Empowerment
PUTRAJAYA, Dec 7: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched two key initiatives under the government’s people-centric development agenda: the Sahabat Penggerak MADANI program and the Skim Insurans Kesejahteraan Rakyat (SIKR) 3.0, aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s social safety net and empowering grassroots communities.
The launch took place in conjunction with the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku program and the National Public Service Reform Convention 2025 (ARPA), a three-day event that concluded today.
Anwar said the two initiatives reflect the government’s continued commitment to promoting social well-being through the values of MADANI and an inclusive protection system.
The Sahabat Penggerak MADANI program involves individuals trained by the Malaysian Nationhood Academy (AKM) to act as community-level ambassadors, spreading awareness on nationhood, leadership, and current government policies.
Meanwhile, SIKR 3.0 is designed to ensure that households listed under eKasih, particularly the poor and hardcore poor, receive essential insurance protection under the MADANI framework.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, alongside Cabinet ministers, top government officials, and senior civil servants.
Among those present were Communication Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, and Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Public Service Director-General Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz also joined the ceremony.
The launch marked the highlight of the Rancakkan MADANI program, which featured interactive exhibitions, policy sharing sessions, and forums on public service delivery reforms.
Rancakkan MADANI is a continuation of the One Year with the MADANI Government and Two Years with the MADANI Government programs, serving as the administration’s tradition of reporting progress directly to the rakyat.
Held alongside the program was the National Public Service Reform Convention 2025, which gathered policymakers, civil servants, and industry players to discuss the future of Malaysia’s governance and public administration.
Organized by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), the national-scale event recorded 304,107 visitors in just two days, surpassing its target of 300,000 attendees.
Following the launch, Anwar toured several exhibition booths and interacted with visitors before departing the venue.
