Anwar arrives in Kelantan for official visit

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived in Kelantan for an official visit to Rantau Panjang and Sungai Golok with his Thai counterpart, Srettha Thavisin.

According to Berita Harian, he landed at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) at 11:18 a.m. and was welcomed by the Chief Minister, Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

During the visit to Sungai Golok, Thailand, Anwar will be greeted by Srettha and will receive a briefing on the project to upgrade the bridge connecting Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, and Sungai Golok, Thailand.

Additionally, Anwar and Srettha are expected to hold bilateral discussions on issues such as Malaysia-Thailand border demarcation and the Peace Dialogue Process in Southern Thailand at the Pasir Mas District Council.

After completing his visit in Pasir Mas, Anwar will tour the Phase 1 Integrated River Basin Development Project in Tunjung, Kota Bharu.
