AetherDrive Launches Integrated Commercial Vehicle Safety Ecosystem in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR — AetherDrive Dynamics Sdn Bhd has launched its Malaysian Commercial Vehicle Safety Ecosystem together with the AetherDrive ADT Speed Limiter Device (SLD), marking a significant step towards enhancing road safety, regulatory compliance and digitalisation within the country’s commercial transport sector.

The launch, held at a hotel here today, introduced what the company described as a one-stop ecosystem aimed at supporting logistics operators, bus companies, transport firms, engineering fleets and commercial vehicle workshops nationwide.

AetherDrive said the initiative goes beyond the provision of speed limiter devices, offering a comprehensive solution that includes installation services, certification, after-sales support, and future fleet management technologies.

The company said Malaysia’s growing logistics and transportation sectors have increased demand for safer, more durable and regulation-compliant systems capable of operating under local conditions, including high temperatures, heavy rainfall and intensive vehicle usage.

Among the key features of the AetherDrive ADT SLD highlighted during the launch are IP65 industrial-grade waterproof protection, a two-year warranty, automotive-grade anti-ignition wiring harness, long-life actuator tested up to 200,000 fatigue cycles, and proprietary hardware and software designed for stable driving performance.

The system is also supported by a nationwide authorised installation and after-sales network.
AetherDrive said commercial vehicle operators now require more than low-cost speed limiters, but rather reliable systems that reduce operational risks and minimise downtime while ensuring continuous support.

“The SLD is only one of the products we have developed as part of a broader ecosystem involving smarter vehicle safety, control and management systems,” said Chairman of the Board of Shanghai Xingrong Automotive Technology Co Ltd, Jackie Cai Jiye.

He said the SLD technology introduced in Malaysia is a mature system that has been used in China for more than 20 years and has proven effective in controlling vehicle speed and reducing accident risks.

Jackie said excessive speed has been identified as one of the main causes of road accidents, making consistent speed control an important factor in improving road safety.

“Based on our experience in China, strict speed control can significantly reduce accident risks. However, not all SLD systems are safe, as some systems slow down vehicles abruptly, which may create hazards,” he said.

He explained that the device is designed to control speed in a more stable and gradual manner.
He added that the system is suitable for various sectors including logistics, oil and gas, and other commercial transport industries.

Based on China’s experience with more than 35 types of commercial vehicles, he said the technology is believed to be adaptable to Malaysia’s market, which is smaller and less complex.

“So far, we do not see any major constraints in adapting this system to Malaysia as most vehicle types here are also available in China,” he said.

He further said the company is open to collaborating with local research institutions to strengthen technological development and gain a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s market requirements.

He added that the company is also engaging with relevant authorities, including the Road Transport Department (JPJ), to ensure compliance and smooth implementation of the system.

“Our goal is not only to be present in the market, but to become a long-term partner in developing a safer, smarter and more structured transportation system in Malaysia,” he added.

AetherDrive is a Malaysia-based technology company focusing on commercial vehicle speed limiting systems, compliance solutions, installation networks and digital fleet management technologies.
