According to Fadhlina, the Education Ministry will launch programmes to help teachers develop their digital technology skills.

KUANTAN: The Ministry of Education (MOE) unveiled a number of initiatives today, the majority of which are intended to improve teachers’ proficiency with digital technology.

According to Minister Fadhlina Sidek, these measures include giving teachers the chance to advance their knowledge through courses on technology empowerment, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence (AI). RM1 million will be allocated, and 500 teachers will be chosen statewide to participate.

She announced that in addition, MOE and Apple Professional Learning Specialist Malaysia will work together to train and mentor 100,000 educators so they can be called “Apple Teachers.”

In addition, 1,000 educators will be chosen to enrol in courses leading to certification as digital experts and recognition as MOE’s Guru Jauhari Digital in order to honour educators who demonstrate exceptional proficiency in adjusting to digital technology.

At today’s 2024 National Teachers’ Day event, which had as its subject Guru Jauhari Digital, Aspirasi Negara Madani, and was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Fadhlina made this statement.

As part of the activities this year, Fadhlina stated, the Cuti-Cuti Cikgu (CCC) program which is now in place will engage strategic partners such as Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, Bank Rakyat, Wetland Putrajaya, Air Asia, and Traveloka.

Two publication awards of RM10,000 each will be given out as part of the initiatives unveiled today for writing about “Madani Teacher Figures” and “Madani Leadership Figures,” the spokesperson added.

Additionally, Fadhlina declared that the first index will be unveiled at the celebration of Teachers’ Day the following year. The purpose of the Teacher Well-being Index is to guarantee that teachers’ well-being is consistently maintained.

The minister went on to say at a press conference that the Teacher Well-being Index looks at the entire ecosystem of educators in order to rate different domains.
