A security guard pleaded not guilty to raping a disabled teen
KOTA BHARU: In the Sessions Court here today, a security guard entered a not guilty plea to two charges of raping a teenage girl with dwarfism who is crippled in a house on February 10 and 11.
Judge Zulkifli Abllah read the charges before M Pikri Mohamed, 43, entered the plea.
He was charged with raping the 15-year-old girl, who also happens to be his neighbour, on February 10 at 5 p.m. in a home in Selising, Pasir Puteh.
Additionally, he was charged with raping the victim at the same place and time on February 11.
Under Section 376 (2) (k) of the Penal Code (Act 574), both accusations were brought. If found guilty, Section 376 (2) of the same statute provides a maximum penalty of up to 30 years and whipping.
The prosecution was represented by deputy public prosecutor Siti Edabayu Subhan, while Muhammad Zulfaqar Al Basysyar Saharrudin, an attorney, stood in for the accused.
The accused was granted RM15,000 bond by the court for both accusations in a single surety, along with the additional requirements of not disturbing the victim and making an appearance at a local police station once a month.
The court scheduled the case mention and material submission for August 12.
