ISTANBUL: Two Al Jazeera correspondents, Anas al-Sharif and Mohamed Qraiqea, were killed on Sunday evening in an Israeli airstrike that struck a journalists’ tent near the Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City.

The Qatar-based news network cited the director of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, who confirmed the deaths, saying the journalists were targeted while stationed near the hospital.

No further details were immediately available, and there has been no comment from the Israeli military regarding the incident.

The strike is the latest in a series of attacks in Gaza that have raised international concerns over the safety of journalists reporting from conflict zones.
