DOHA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s meeting with Qatari executives and business leaders here today resulted in the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) receiving potential exports amounting to RM700 million.

Tengku Zafrul said the export commitment was expressed by 36 Qatari industry captains during a business roundtable meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.

“Alhamdulillah, we received a commitment amounting to RM700 million. This shows the Qatari company’s confidence in our products and services.

“In addition, we also see the potential of West Asia which is a big market for Malaysia that we can explore,” he said, Berita Harian reported.

Earlier, a total of 45 leading Qatari industry captains from 36 companies attended the roundtable meeting representing sectors such as food and feed processing, pharmaceuticals, building materials, real estate and construction, education, hospitality and healthcare, finance, aviation, retail and distribution and the economy. digital.

During the round table dialogue, the Prime Minister reiterated Malaysia’s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations with Qatar, especially in trade and investment.

He emphasized the attractive value of Malaysia where its strong infrastructure, rule of law factor, presence of skilled and trained talent, disciplined project implementation and strong business ecosystem make it an attractive destination for investors who aspire to make Malaysia a strategic production and service hub for Asian markets, as well as attracting new opportunities for growth and diversification.
