RIYADH, 23 July (Voice of Malaysia): The Saudi Cabinet has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Syria’s reconstruction and called on the international community to intensify efforts to end the ongoing war in Gaza and remove all barriers to humanitarian aid.

In its weekly session chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s support for initiatives aimed at restoring Syria’s security, stability, unity, and sovereignty. The Cabinet endorsed the recent joint statement by foreign ministers from several “brotherly nations” concerning the latest developments in Syria and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people.

“The Kingdom continues to stand by the Syrian people and remains committed to collaborative efforts for rebuilding the country,” the Cabinet noted in an official statement.

On the Palestinian front, the Council of Ministers welcomed a joint declaration by 28 countries demanding an end to the Gaza conflict. The declaration condemned Israel’s continued obstruction of humanitarian aid to Gaza and urged for the immediate lifting of all restrictions that hinder the safe delivery of relief to Palestinian civilians.

The Saudi Cabinet underscored its deep concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, where blockades and military operations have left millions in dire need of food, medicine, and essential supplies.

“The Kingdom renews its urgent call to the international community to take decisive and practical action against Israel’s intransigence, which not only prolongs the suffering in Gaza but also threatens broader regional and global peace efforts,” the statement read.

Saudi Arabia has consistently advocated for a ceasefire in Gaza, increased humanitarian access, and a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.

The Cabinet session also reviewed the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian programs in conflict zones, reaffirming Riyadh’s role as a leading provider of aid and supporter of diplomatic solutions in the region.
