Saudi Arabia Showcases Vision for Riyadh Expo 2030 at Reception in Osaka

OSAKA, July 18 (VOM-Voice of Malaysia)— Riyadh Expo 2030 hosted a high-profile reception in Osaka on Thursday, aiming to strengthen global partnerships and showcase the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s readiness to deliver a transformative and inclusive World Expo.

Organized in collaboration with the Saudi Embassy in Japan, the event brought together over 200 distinguished guests, including ambassadors, commissioners-general, and delegates involved in Expo 2025 Osaka.

Held under the overarching theme “The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow,” the evening focused on Riyadh Expo 2030’s three subthemes: Innovative Technologies, Sustainable Solutions, and Thriving Communities.

Dr. Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner-General of the Kingdom’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, officially opened the reception. In his keynote speech, Dr. Binzagr highlighted the importance of expos in fostering international dialogue and diplomacy.

“It has been an honor to serve as commissioner-general of the Kingdom’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, where I’ve witnessed firsthand the vital role expos play in strengthening international ties,” he said. “Tonight’s event was a platform to exchange ideas and build bridges across borders.”

Abdulaziz Al-Ghannam, Commissioner-General of Riyadh Expo 2030, emphasized that preparations for the global event are already well underway.

“Our journey to host the expo in Riyadh has already begun, and we treat this as a national priority,” he said. “The leadership and people of Saudi Arabia are fully committed to welcoming the world and making Riyadh Expo 2030 a truly global platform.”

Adding to the momentum, Thamer Al-Saadoun, Executive Vice President of Riyadh Expo 2030, spoke on how the event aligns with global priorities.

“The expo’s theme is deeply rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Saudi Vision 2030. It represents our ambition to drive meaningful change through innovation, collaboration, and foresight.”

The reception in Osaka is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing global outreach to promote Riyadh Expo 2030 and engage early with international stakeholders. Similar events and diplomatic efforts are planned in the months leading up to the expo.

Set to run from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, Riyadh Expo 2030 will cover a vast area of 6 million square meters, making it one of the largest expos in history. It is expected to draw millions of visitors and participants from around the world, offering a unique platform for innovation, cultural exchange, and global cooperation.
