AKPS Denies Entry to 131 Foreign Nationals at KLIA Over Immigration Violations

A total of 131 foreign nationals were denied entry into Malaysia by the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Terminal 1, last Friday after failing to meet entry requirements.

According to an official statement released by AKPS today, key violations included suspicious accommodation bookings, failure to report at immigration counters, and insufficient proof of financial means.

“Financial issues are a key indicator of a visitor’s true intentions. For instance, some individuals claimed they planned to stay for a month but only brought around RM500, raising doubts about the legitimacy of their visit,” the statement noted.

During the operation, which took place from 3pm to 10pm at the International Arrival Hall and Departure Gates C1 to C37, more than 300 foreign nationals were screened by immigration officers.

Out of this number, 96 men from Bangladesh, 30 men from Pakistan, and five Indonesians (four men and one woman) were found to have violated Malaysia’s entry regulations.

AKPS emphasised that national border security and sovereignty remain a top priority, and firm action will be taken against any attempts to enter the country using forged documents or with questionable motives.

“All foreign visitors are advised to ensure that their travel documents, accommodation plans, and financial resources are complete, genuine, and reasonable before arriving in Malaysia,” the agency stated.

This enforcement action is in line with international immigration principles, which require that all travellers must demonstrate that they will not become a burden to the host country.
