Party source says that an urgent meeting of the PKR leadership council has been called to talk about Rafizi and Nik Nazmi’s resignations

The PKR central leadership council has called an emergency meeting to talk about the resignations of Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, and Datuk Rafizi Ramli, Minister of the Economy.

“We are waiting for more information about when the meeting will be,” said someone inside the party. He stated that the last-minute meeting would also discuss potential new options for both jobs. “We’re having a hard time coming up with names to suggest at the meeting.”

“But I’m sure that Datuk Amirudin Shari, who is Selangor’s chief executive, will be at the top of the list,” the elected officials said.

“They’ve been responsible for their portfolios for two and a half years and have done a lot of work.”
“It is inappropriate to expect others to come and pick up after them,” the person said.

He also said that Rafizi and Nik Nazmi didn’t have to give up their duties as Cabinet ministers just because they lost the party polls.
Rafizi and Nik Nazmi hired many party members as assistants and support staff, but they lost their jobs overnight, he said.
